I understand how it feels to be a physician, a woman and a mum. I know it feels to be in an ethnic minority and how this intertwines with your life. Like you, I have been through tough times in the physician world, faced career dilemmas and battled doubts and confusion. I have ridden the roller-coaster of a medical career.
Now that I’ve stepped off the roller-coaster and diversified my career I appreciate the feelings and practicalities that you face when deciding to diversify or change your career. I recognise that it’s not an easy decision and that there is so much to consider. I understand how hard it is to find the time and space to think properly about what you want, let alone make steps towards it.
I am here to help you through the confusion, overcome the barriers and reach career fulfilment.

Dr Seema Pattni's career
Medical school
I was excited to be at Imperial College London. Despite doing well, I questioned whether Medicine was the right path for me. I graduated with a BSc in neuroscience and mental health, and an MBBS.
Foundation training
I loved the camaraderie of these years. I enjoyed being a physician and helping patients. I struggled with normalisation of bad practice, poor working conditions and being undervalued.
Finding a specialty
I explored infectious diseases and sexual health but drawn to continuity of care, I decided on General Practice with specialist interests. I worked in the UK, Ghana, Germany and New Zealand.
I am most proud of setting up and leading services in social prescribing; and homeless health inclusion.
Becoming a coach
As an empathetic, nurturing person I found myself coaching friends, family and colleagues. I realised that I had the skill set, values and drive to become a coach.
I devote my coaching practice to helping physicians find career fulfilment and create a path that truly resonates with them.
